Billy Almond Obituary

Billy Joe Almond, 69 of Coolidge, passed away on February 5, 2024, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Jones Funeral Services Chapel with Pastor Butch Boatwright of Hubbard Cowboy Church, officiating.  Interment will follow at Malakoff Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service, starting at 10:30 a.m.

Billy was born on September 11, 1954, in El Paso, Texas to William Almond and Reva Kirk.  He had been a long-time resident of the Central Texas area, graduating from Corsicana High School.  Billy, following in his father’s footsteps, was a natural born salesman.  He was a car salesman for many years with Dick Scott Ford in Mexia.  Billy never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand and made sure his people were okay.  He was very involved in the community and the children were dear to his heart.  He was a big supporter of many charities and activities in the community.  When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed farming at his place in Coolidge and fishing.  One of his favorite activities was riding around on the property on the John Deere Gator with his grandson. Billy was a member of the Hubbard Cowboy Church.

Billy was preceded in death by his father, William Almond.  Survivors include his wife, whom he spent 20 years with, Sherri Almond of Coolidge; children, Stacy Dodson of Coolidge, Billie Michelle Sangwin of Buna, Texas, Shane Almond of Silsbee, Texas, Matt Almond of Evadale, Texas, Scottie Adams of Plano, Texas, and Vickie Maloch of Gilmer, Texas; mother, Reva Kirk of Coolidge; siblings, Debbie Seabolt of Waco, Texas, Anthoney Chaney of Coolidge, Effe Pittman of Coolidge, Theresa Kemp of Greenville, South Carolina, Elaine Donahue of Dallas, Georgia and Paul Almond of Pearland, Texas; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family.
