Volley DeWayne Dabney, 76 of Mexia, passed away on May 16, 2020 at the Mexia LTC.

Mr. Dabney was born on August 12, 1943 in Mexia to John & Eula Smith Dabney. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shiloh and was there every time the doors were open. He was a mechanic all of his life, and loved working on cars and racing cars, especially his ’75 Nova.
Mr. Dabney was preceded in death by his daughter, Lee Ann Lankford, his wife, Mary Ann Dabney, his parents, seven sisters and one brother. Survivors include his brothers, Ray Dabney & wife, Vana of Mexia and Melvin Dabney of Mexia; sister, Marie Carter of Gladewater, Texas; sons, Johnny Dabney & wife Kristy of Mexia; David Dabney of Mexia and Bobby Dabney of Mexia; grandchildren, Johnny Ray Dabney of Austin, Ashley Dabney of Austin; Cody Dabney of Mexia, Kayla Mayfield of Mexia, Kevin Dabney of Mexia, Colby Dabney of Mexia, Terry Lee Lankford & wife, Melissa Guill Lankford of Gun Barrel City, Texas and Chad Lankford of Personville, Texas, as well as several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
